MY PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Welcoming a new baby is one of the great joys of life! While both wonderful and magical, it can also be a time of overwhelming stress and uncertainty for new parents.

 

A native of Wisconsin, currently residing in Sarasota, Florida, I received my Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and my Master of Science in nursing from Duke University.  During my career I have worked in many large medical centers around the country including Yale New Haven Hospital, the University of Chicago Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Hospital, Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. 

     

As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, my entire career has been dedicated to caring for babies and families. Throughout my 20 years of work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, as well as my current work completing certification as a postpartum doula with DONA International, I have discovered that my deepest passion is helping growing families adjust to having a new baby in their lives.

Recognizing that every family has their own expectations and unique parenting style, as your postpartum doula, I will personally assist you with a successful transition into life with a newborn.
